Richard has a busy practice spanning employment, regulatory and commercial law, as well as Complex Personal Injury matters involving Employers Liability and accidents at work.

Richard acts for a wide range of clients, both claimants and respondents, from large corporations to charities and public sector bodies, instructed both through solicitors or directly.

He has particular experience in advising on matters relating to unfair dismissal, all forms of discrimination, stress, bullying and harassment, protected disclosure/whistleblowing, restrictive covenants, redundancy and equal pay. He is also experienced in the areas employment law overlaps with personal injury, in particular with accidents at work, harassment, stress and noise induced hearing loss claims.

In addition to his employment practice, Richard is an experienced regulatory tribunal advocate with extensive experience in cases concerning misconduct, criminal convictions, lack of conduct and health. 

Prior to working at the self-employed Bar Richard worked for the Government Legal Department, HM Treasury and in financial services, in addition to working for a law firm in Texas representing death row prisoners. He has devoted part of his time to pro bono work through the Free Representation Unit and the Employment Law Association pro bono scheme, and was previously chair of a charity providing support to asylum seekers in South London.
