Nicola practises across all of Chambers’ core areas of work, with a particular specialism in public authority liability, professional liability and property/property damage. She appears in the County Court and High Court frequently (both as sole and junior counsel) in trials, costs/case management conferences and procedural applications.
Public Authority Liability
Nicola specialises in claims against public authorities and police forces. She is experienced in representing the police in claims for unlawful arrest, false imprisonment and malicious prosecution and is developing a significant practice in coronial law (including in inquests that are Article 2 compliant, and those with a jury).
Nicola is instructed in a wide range of professional liability matters, particularly in claims involving construction professionals, solicitors and estate agents, and those that are linked to property damage. She is instructed in disputes which are litigated, arbitrated and adjudicated, and has trial advocacy and witness-handling experience well above her level of call.
