Dominique joined Chambers in October 2018, having successfully completed her pupillage under the supervision of Andrew Spencer, Jack Harding and Sophie Mortimer. She receives instructions in all areas of Chambers’ work and is developing a broad civil common law practice.

Dominique regularly appears in small claims and fast track trials, as well as interim applications in a variety of cases, including those on the multi-track. She has a broad personal injury practice acting for claimants, insurers, local authorities and NHS trusts in claims arising out of road traffic accidents, employers’ and occupiers’ liability claims. Dominique also undertakes both Claimant and Defendant travel law work, and has experience of acting in inquests.  

During the first six months of pupillage, Dominique assisted Members of Chambers in the High Court case of Spearman v Royal United Bath NHS Foundation Trust [2017].

Prior to joining Chambers, Dominique worked as an usher for the Chief Coroner and Assistant Coroners at HM Coroner’s Court Surrey. Dominique subsequently witnessed many inquests and pre-inquest reviews. Dominique also worked at the General Council of the Bar of England and Wales as a Policy Analyst in the areas of Remuneration and the Employed Bar. Dominique was the Executive of several committees and was the principal author of a Bar Council ‘Snapshot’ Report. She was further involved in the production of Bar Council responses to Government consultations.

Additionally, Dominique worked as an Associate Tutor at the University of Surrey in EU Law. Dominique also spent time volunteering for AvMA (Action against Medical Accidents), where she assisted members of the public who had suffered healthcare related injuries.

Dominique initially began her studies in Medicine at the University of Leicester, before leaving to embark upon a legal career. Dominique thereafter read Law at the University of Surrey where she gained a First Class Honours degree. Dominique gained a Very Competent in the Bar Professional Training Course, with Outstanding grades in modules including examination-in-chief and cross-examination. She was awarded a major Exhibition Award by the Inner Temple and a Duke of Edinburgh Entrance Award.
